Equipment

  • 1-3 Cedar Planks

Ingredients
  

  • 1-2 lb Salmon
  • 2 tbsp Whole grain mustard
  • 2 tbsp Honey

Instructions
 

Prepare Cedar Planks

  • Place 1 or more cedar plans, enough to hold your entire piece of salmon, in a baking sheet. Cover with water and use small glass of water to weight plank down so that it stays submerged.
  • Soak planks for 1-2 hours prior to cooking.

Prepare Honey Mustard Glaze

  • Mix mustard and honey in small bowl and stir to combine.
  • Spread mixture on salmon, making sure to cover entire top of the fish. Use a spoon to scoop up any that falls off.

Char Cedar Planks

  • Preheat gas grill to high
  • Place planks on grill and let cook for 2-3 minutes, until they develop a char. Do not burn.
  • Flip planks over so they are char side up and turn off burner directly underneath.

Cook Salmon

  • Set grill to 300 °F. Place salmon skin-side down on the charred cedar planks.
  • Cook until internal temperature reaches 145 °F, approximately 20-35 minutes depending on the size of your salmon.
  • Use spatula to separate the skin from the meat. Remove meat from grill.
